Dennis J. Szczech
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Szczech was born and raised in Northern New Jersey just 10 miles from New York City. Growing up in a blue collar middle class family, Mr. Szczech was taught the value of hard work by becoming helper in his family’s electrical contracting business.
After moving to South Florida in 1979, Mr. Szczech finished High School in 1982 and began working in the construction business while he attended college part time majoring in Business Administration. He eventually moved on to work in manufacturing. His leadership and attention to detail became quickly evident as he was promoted to Warehouse Manager within his first year overseeing much of the shipping and receiving operations as well as managing the physical inventory audits. While managing the warehouse, Mr. Szczech also became involved in production processes and efficiency analysis through cost accounting. With this, he was offered a position as the Plant General Manager for West Coast Plastics -°©‐ Ewa Beach Hawaii facility in 1989. While there, he improved the factories production efficiency, methods of quality control, inventory turnover efficiency, and increased sales by 300%.
In 1991 Mr. Szczech returned to South Florida to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Barry University in Miami Shores. While completing work on his degree, he took a Staff Accountant position with International Beach Hotel Development, a timeshare resort in Ft. Lauderdale where he gained a wealth of experience in the Timeshare industry. Within 8 months, he was promoted to Assistant Controller and 1 year later promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Over the next 13 years, Mr. Szczech held the position of Controller at The Manhattan Club, Chief Financial Officer of Lake Eve Development (Oasis Lakes Resort), Chief Financial Officer of The Palm Beach Development Group (Subsidiary of the Berkley Group) and Chief Financial Officer of Summer Bay Resorts.
In 2004, Mr. Szczech developed a niche financing program and partnered with GTE Federal Credit Union to create First Funding, LLC. The program originally targeted the Timeshare and Travel Club Industry; however he quickly realized that the program could be marketed to other types of industries. Mr. Szczech built a client base of over 70 clients that included many different industries.
Mr. Szczech sold his interest in 2007 and began working as a Mortgage Wholesale account manager. He built a book of business that included over 150 mortgage brokers spread out throughout the southeastern United States where he funded over $150 million in subprime mortgages per year.
In 2009 Mr. Szczech joined The Silver Leaf Group as the Chief Financial Officer. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in many different industries and it’s this diversity that makes him a valuable addition to the management team.
Mr. Szczech holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has trained with some of the best Mixed Martial Arts fighters for over 8 years. He has 3 children and is an active member of the RNC. He also is a volunteer to Kids in Distress.
